The Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven’s Major Donor Event is named in perpetuity for Irving Eckhardt, a philanthropist and businessman whose estate included a large endowment to support the Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign. (Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowment Fund/PACE). 

One of a handful of Jewish families in Seymour, CT, the Eckhardts owned and operated a furniture store for more than 85 years. Irving followed his parents, Nathan and Ida, into the family business until it was sold in 2005.
